Many thanks Tina for the valuable info you've posted.

I checked and you're right, she is on carboplatin 550mg and taxol 330mg. Does this sound right? She's also been given sickness tablet, so that's better now. But she hasn't been eating, so she was admitted to hospital again to check her immune system, apparently chemo affects white blood cells too? she's now on a drip, so she's a bit better.

does chemo cause any permanent side affects? such as not being able to walk etc?

She also, has a couple of small areas on her liver, guessing that it has spread from her peritonea to her liver? would chemo treat all areas?

Thanks so much for your help. So how long have you been on remission now? and would you be needing more chemo? how often do you have to go for checkups? I am guessing that's blood tests and ct scans?

    Not sure about the doses, but the drugs are the same as mine. Yes, the chemo does affect the white blood cells and we have to be careful not to get any infections. I don't think for one minute chemo causes any permanent side effects but ladies often say they are left with tingling and numbness in their hands and feet for a short time afterwards. I had a small thickening near to my liver - I'm not sure if carboplatin / taxol will work on the liver itself but it will work on PPC cancer cells.

    I finished treatment March 26th this year so it has been 6 months. My check ups are every 2 months where I have my CA125 done. However the last time my numbers when up so I had a CT scan. I get my results Oct 25th and I am a little apprehensive. But I am trying to push it to the back of my mind so I can try & get on with my life as normal as possible.

    Anxiety
    My next check up is my regular 2 monthly routine check up. I guess I can phone and ask about my CT but they won't make a decision until they do my CA 125 at the end of October anyway.

    As an aside, I have been very anxious and ended up going to my doctors to talk about my anti-depressants. I told him I was experiencing bloating, heartburn, nausea and lack of appetite. All the symptoms of a reacurance, however the bloating normally happens in the evening and has gone by the morning. The doctor said that anxiety can cause those symptoms so he has increased my meds. Low and behold, the next day (today) after taking my new meds my symptoms have lessened considerably and I feel NORMAL and am much much calmer.

    Anxiety can cause such a wide spectrum of symptoms - I never realised.
