Just curious how many woman have had the combo of Taxotere, Carboplatin and Herceptin? How is your hair coming in? Would love to find someone out there who had a similar experience to mine, (sparce, thin, hair regrowth one year out with visible scalp) is further out from their treatment, and has a full head of hair now!!!! Anyone????

I had TCH. I still have Herceptin until Nov. 12th. Last chemo was Feb 11th. My hair is now thick (it was thick before), wavy, it was straight before and now it is grey when it was brunette with a little grey before. It is long enough in the back that I don't have to shave the back of my neck now. It is halfway down my ears. Looks like I have wings growing out of my ears. It will not lay down. The hair on top of my head will not lay down either. It is 2 inches long. I look like I need a haircut (cause it's bushy), but no way am I getting one.

    TCH
    Hi!

I also had TCH, actually will have my last herceptin infusion October 5th. I plan on taking in a celebration cake for the "chemo lounge ladies" - those nurse have been truely wonderful to me over this past year. My hair started to come in about a month after my last chemo dose (I think it was sometime in April), and then thinned again about a couple of weeks later - God has a sense of humor! Initially it came in sparsely, and took its sweet time filling in the gaps. Now it seems to have slowed down as far as length, but is very thick and wavy. My old hair was stick straight. Mine was browinsh with some grey prior to treatment, and is now mostly grey with some brown. I am 52 years old, my brother is 9 years older and is strongly encouraging me to keep it natural! He likes that I now have more grey than him! I have decided to make friends with it as it is now. Additionally, my eyelashes and eyebrows totally fell out about a month after chemo ended - again God's sense of humor! The brows are back, but my eyelashes are very short with hardly any curl at all. I have had to become very good with the eyeliner!

My body and regrowth is sooooo similar to Patti, that I
want to scream ... it's hard enough to lose hair, brows and lashes during the heavier dose of our TCH .. then to get teased and have re-growth of lost hairs -- only to lose them .. yet, again. Or have them return partial strength, and thickness. Sucky is all I can say.

Herceptin for a year - does come with side efforts - ask me, I 've experience just about every one .. so much so, that I've been asked to be interviewed by a research panel of doctor's.

I am finally finished with Herceptin, so now I sit and wait for new re-growth of brows and lashes.

That was my combo which finished Taxotere and carbo back in March, still on Herceptin till Oct. I do have a head full of hair now, though not very long, its starting to curl a little in the back at the ends, but I originally had curly hair so Im not surprised. eyebrows came in then thined out again, so Im back to pencil eyebrows, eyelashes still coming in slowly.

    Same with me
This is also my cocktail. My last of Taxotere and Carboplatin is Oct 1st then will have to complete a year of Herceptin. My original hair was very thick and long with a wave to it. So I'm hoping it will come back even thicker and curlier. Everyone says it does. So we shall see with me. Right now I have old hair still hanging around. I have a question for everyone - do you shave your hair to the skin after the last treatment or will the old stuff eventually fall out. What should I do?

No full head here neither. Had the same cocktail, finished in May. My eyebrows thinned, still no growth there, eyelashes are all back now but much shorter-I miss my long lashes, my longest hair has snailed in at about an inch now, it's all very uneven, but who cares?! I'm happy to have hair. It's dark, thick, a few more grays have sprouted-I've earned them. It was thin, brown, and I only had 4 gray ones. I only shaved my head when it starting falling out at the beginning of Chemo, then I used a lint roller for the loose ones. What was left there eventually grew. I figured I'd just let it all grow and see what happens.
