So once, again, I'm anxious for this day to arrive, I didn't sleep a wink last night. Wondering what they were going to say.
I went through that last month, but my file didn't make it to the tumor board, so no surgery last month.
I get to my 9:45 AM appointment, and was told the tumor board ran over, and they didn't have time to go over my file. So no known surgery this month.
The Onc, says my CEA count is down to 11.5, which he said wasn't as great a drop as I had been making, 52 to 17, then just 15 last time and 11.5 this time.
Said my liver something anothers were becoming active, so tumors that had shrunk so he thought I could have surgery, have once again, he thinks started to grow a little.
Won't know until another CT scan, then back to the Onc's office to see if I can have surgery on the 30th.
So not even Xeloda this week as platlets are down to far for any treatment.
What a disappointing day.
Well, at least only a two week wait this time.

    passed over TWICE?
I can't believe your doc has not come through 2 tumor boards in a row! He needs to get on the ball, the waiting must be killing you (not literally of course!). Here's hoping you are first on the agenda at the next meeting!

    Have you met with the
Have you met with the surgeon? HE or she is the one who will ultimately make the call on whether or not surgery is an option. Tumor boards are great and all, but each specialist is biased towards his specialty. My surgeon was the only one one the board looking at my case who wanted to do surgery.

Skipping over you twice is really unfair.

    Board
Wow skipping you after two months would make me rethink if you have the right doctors. You should probably think about getting a second opinion as you aren't getting any options from your doctor because the board hasn't looked at it yet. My board had my file 3 days after my diagnosis. You need to be comfortable with your doctors, but you could still get a second opinion. Hope you get that surgery on the 30th and that all goes well.

The darn surgeon is one of the reasons to take it to the tumor board, the surgeon is that one that wants that.

    That's terrible
I'm really hoping you get that surgery soon. I think next time you ought to show up for the tumor board and let them see the face of cancer. They wouldn't dare ignore you then!

    *hugs*

    I'm making sure
I sure as heck am crashing the next one, my name had better be called and file gone through!!! It was bad the first time I wasn't able to find out, the second time, I just felt devastated. My family were all waiting to hear, I was so depressed I called one, and asked her to let everyone else know, it was too depressing to talk about.

    Call your doctor
Get this taken care of. You should be furious and call tomorrow. Hope you get the answers you so deserve.
