PPC and Recurrence

I have been wondering if any of our teal warriors have had a recurrence of PPC... If so, what has the line of treatment been? Thankfully, I have been in remission since finishing my chemo in December, but I can't help but think about it returning in the future. It seems like with ovarian cancer, it can be managed with chemo with several recurrences... I am just wondering if anyone with PPC has experienced this?

    Hi South Jersey Don't know
Hi South Jersey Don't know if I can be of much help, I have PPC diagnosed in Oct 2008 finished chemo March 2009. The lowest me CA125 went was 12 and is now at 18 even though I have enlarged lymph nodes which have been diagnosed as metastized. Had a PET scan which showed several small nodules in the chest area but after the PET scan my oncologist went back to the old CT scans and they have been there for a while. SO with my CA125 in the normal range enlarged lymph nodes and several small nodules I like to think it is not a recurrence. He said the nodes could have been there all along and chemo did not get to them. My CA125 was just under 4000 so I always thought the CA125 would be a good indication for me if I was to have a recurrence but apparently not. So we are going to just wait and see if the nodules grow and if they do chemo is the next step as they are too small for surgical removal but the longer I can stay off chemo the better. Regards Jenny

    Jenny,
    Thank you for your

    Jenny,
Thank you for your response... so very few women are diagnosed with PPC, and it is difficult to find stories of recurrence and treatment. I pray that the nodules the doctors are watching do not continue to grow. I know the odds are not in our favor, but we have to stay strong and continue to hold on to our faith.
Praying for continued good health for you and our other teal warriors!
