Anyone know of a nutrition specialist in southern California that they would recommend. I would like to find someone that is very knowledgable about colon cancer and what diet would be best suited.

Thanks,
Sara

    Nutrition Specialist
Does your cancer center have a dietitician? I met with the one at my cancer center and got a lot of info that was specifically for me.

I am not in your area
My oncologist has a Nationally Certified Specialist in Oncology Nutrition – CSO. I visited her before starting chemo. She is also a Member of the Oncology Nutrition Dietetic Practice Group. She was wonderful. Maybe if you did a search on these two groups if you don't have someone at your oncologist's office, you could find a specialist?

There are only 4 in our entire state with this certification, but there are many in California.

    Suggestions
I agree that maybe you should check with your oncologist or have him/her suggest someone in the local hospital.

I go to one at the hospital and it is great!

You might want to send a PM to 2bhealed . Emily can provide info
regarding nutrition to help with the fight with colon cancer.

Scouty has a wealth of info also!

    Good health!
