First Follow-up Colonoscopy - Abnormal.

I have been lurking for quite a long time and now have a question that I haven't seen posted lately anyway. My husband was diagnosed May 2009, radiation/chemo summer of 2009; Rectal surgery Sept 2009; Good outlook - lymph nodes all clear.


It was time for his first follow-up colonoscopy last week and we weren't that anxious about it since it was so soon after treatment. Well, the dr said there was no cancer found but.....there was an area he couldn't see after trying multiple times. So he biopsied the area just to check it since he couldn't visually check it. Now we have found out that the biopsy came back with pre-cancerous cells. They want to do another colonoscopy now to try to "see" it again. What happens with an area of "precancerous cells" when you have the history of cancer. This time it's in the cecum area. Do they take it out now or wait and watch? We will be talking to the dr next week but in the meantime, we are sort of stunned and scared all over again. Just when we were starting to get our lives back in order. He finished chemo in April 2010. I know many of you have been dealing with this for years and I feel like I'm whining but just need someone to tell me what to expect.
