Nightsweats but not drenching

I still do have some nightsweats that are irritating and uncomfortable. Every night like clockwork I go read in bed and am fine. Then when I am ready to go to sleep, I get comfortable and lay my head down flat. Within about 2 minutes my head is steaming the pillow and I have to lose the covers completely for about 5 min. I have to turn the pillow over to the cool side and then I can go to sleep. This is an every night occurance, and is normal at least for me. A couple times through the night I get warm and usually just keeping one leg out of the covers is enough to get through.

The drenching sweats are my "danger" sign and I call my onc. So far for me, it's been a fairly consistent sign that my cancer is back. I have only had a handful of them since this cancer journey started, but I pay attention to them. The normal sweats of menopause that NHL has blessed me with are different. I didn't think I'd be able to tell the difference and questioned my onc many times about it, but there is a difference and I'm glad I can identify it now. He just kept telling me "You'll know when it's different" and he's right.

Anybody else relate to this?

I kept my thermometer on my nightstand too!! But most of the time I didn't use it cuz I am a chicken. I never did get a fever but it was wintertime and I live in Minnesota so it takes a lot to get warm. I just recently put my thermometer away. Oh the small steps of progress. Mary

I think I can relate to that. I was also concerned about not being able to tell the difference. My MD said it would be an "event". Drenching and needing to change clothing and linens etc. I don't think ever had that.

The drenching sweats feel like you stepped out of the tub or pool and immediately jump in bed. The sweat literally drips down your entire body. It's extreme to say the least.

No, Vinny it doesn't feel anything like a fever, just overwhelming heat and the air seems to stop moving. LOL

I had 2b Hodgkins back in 1998 and I did have the drenching, soaking, dripping nightsweats then. Now as Im heading to get a CT scan today due to a new lump in my neck, I also have the same concern as you. I wake up very warm and a little sweaty lately so obviously Im very worried about it being back. I can attest that the drenching nighsweats are not the same as being warm and uncomfortable but I dont blame you for questioning it either...
