Well Ed has been out of the hospital a week today and we are still awaiting to hear from dana farber cancer center in Boston to see if he is a candidate for stereotatic radiation, if not, we will have to do whole brain radiation., boy, this waiting can be so stressful. Diana and I are doing ok, this new cancer met in his brain has been very hard on us, we do not know what to expect, we do have however, visiting nurses come twice a week to the house to check him, which we are thankful for. I will post when I get some news. I was wondering once you have brain cancer from any other source, do you usually get more mets in the brain? I was also told that you can only do whole brain radiation once, so this worries me also. Does anyone have any first hand experience with this topic.

Well I will keep waiting and praying for Ed and all the e/c patients.

thanks
Linda

    an update on Ed
Well we got the bad news again, seems like that is all we ever get these days, that he is NOT a candidate of stereoactic radiation, he is now going to have fifteen sessions of whole brain radiation starting next week. The experts in Boston said the tumor is too close to his brain stem and suggested surgery and radiation, but Ed has decided against surgery and do the whole head radiation. I am very very worried about this treatment option but seem to think that there is nothing else we can do. He is getting tired of treatment and I am worried what will these radiation treatments do to him in the long run. Thanks William for posting all those sites to me, I have read them all and I have also put a post under brain cancer as you suggested but did not get many posts. Everyday seems like there is more bad news. I know being depressed is normal considering what we have gone though and I am still praying for that miracle. Ed's cancer seems to be getting worse, finding new homes for themselves such as the brain now. I just wanted to post to let everyone know that we do read these posts most days and thanks for the concern.

    Prayers coming your way
    Linda,

I know it is difficult for you and Ed when you have tests, wait to see the doctor hoping things will turn out positive; and then get news you don't want to hear. But please don't give up hope.

God is still there, and as difficult as it sometimes is to accept, has a plan for all of us.

We will be praying that you and Ed get better news as things proceed forward.
