I got the call to confirm liver resection on the 6th, this coming tuesday!! I am scared and excited at the same time. I will be having the entire right lobe removed. The surgeon said he feels vergood about it, that it is major but very do able.
All of you liver resectioners, can you tell me what to kinda expect?? Will I have a tube down nose when I awaken? I have so many questions. Not sleeping already, can't get my brain to quit thinking.

you may have a line in your neck, you will have a catheter, of course an IV in your arm, I didn't have nose tube others may have????
don't bother taking lots of clothes to hospital...gowns are good for a few days,,,I was in 5 days for both re-sections but in pain when I left and I think 7 is a good number.
Watch for constipation from pain meds....take the pain meds,
don't worry if you are alittle jaundiced for a bit
get good pain med before you leave hospital...

ask away darling Christy.....soooo exciting...it will be all good

oh and Christy I had those big blow up things on my legs that keep the blood circulating
