Four years ago today was my resection for Stage 1 colon cancer. I've been fine since I recovered from the surgery. Had my annual physical last week and no sign of cancer anywhere! My next colonoscopy will be in October. My gastro doc says that I'm the poster child for early detection. The threat of recurrence never goes away, but it's getting further behind me every day. One good thing that resulted from having colon cancer is that a friend and I started a cancer support group called Cancer Hope and Healing in January at our church. It's a small group but we're making a difference.
