Just wanted to share with anyone that wanted to read this that my little dog (lil bit ) was acting funny this morning and didn't want me to touch her.She kept paying alot of attention to her bottom..well been there done that, I called the vet they told me to bring her in. So we go and they said that one of her annal glands was about to rupture...OMG what do we do. Well they put her to sleep and lanced it and they said it would have to be done about every 3 months. I picked her up and on the way home told her that at least she didn't have to have chemo or radition..don't think she saw the humor in that but tonight she has stopped whinning and seems to feel alittle better , I remembered how bad I felt before they found out what my problem was and that took 3&1/2 yrs...I am glad we got it quick and that she will be ok. She is my baby and knows what I need on the chemo days when all you want is for it to just go away...Thanks for letting me share this...

My Lilly can relate sort of
My ****-zu Lilly has been a bit under the weather lately too. We took her to the vet on Monday. $196.32 later they said she is fine. They thought she might be anemic, then they thought she might be nesting, but she was in heat in December. Then they ran a full panel of blood work and thru an x-ray in for free. They love her. Her tongue sticks out all the time everyone thinks she's had a stroke or something because of her tongue, but its just her personality and alot of ****-zu have this trait. Anyway, we came to the conclusion I have been home re couping from surgery and maybe she is feeling down like mom enough already!! Glad Lil Bit is doing better this evening. I will be wearing my blue tomorrow. Keep moving forward. Hugs Goofyladie (Cass)

    We will do anything
Ok so my cat Simon was just a stray rescue cat but he is so much a part of our family. When George was diagnosed within 4 days we had a diagnosis of Stage IV, in hospital for a colon resection and with tests, scans and the whole thing and I was so overwhelmed and when I went to bed, the tears came. Well that silly cat always sleeps down by the end of the bed but he came up, slept on George's pillow and put his paw on my face, almost like saying "mom its going to be ok". There is nothing I would not do for him, including getting his teeth cleaned recently to the tune of over $200.00 big ones. Tina

Won't reveal how much but I spent a bundle trying to keep
GF"s Doberman, Rambo, alive when at around 12, he came down with kidney failure. After five days in animal hospital, we kept him alive four more months with pills and daily infusions of meds via injectioin into his back/shoulders.He'd come sit in my room as I petted him and GF would put needle into him and then I'd hold the solution bag while Cat sat on bed watching. When done, Rambo knew I'd take him out for awhile...Almost to the day, a year later, at 13+, Cat also died of kidney failure. Never had kids, would have done same for them. A pet, I guess,is like a kid-you do anything to minimize/eliminate pain and to keep them alive but unfortunately, the animal can't fully communicate his/her needs...Miss them both badly..Steve

    They are like our kids
I have grown kids but let me tell you when something is wrong with my pets I will move heaven and earth to make them better. I lost my pug 2 yrs ago and she was 10 yr old had a heat stroke and passed away I almost died . Than we found these 2 little dogs some one threw away and adopted them and when I came home from the hospital and couldn't move for 2 weeks they laid right by my bed and wouldn't move. They know when we are sick and they know when we feel good...I wouldn't trade mine for any amount of money..,.thanks for the post it is nice to see people that love their pets and want to share stories takes our minds off cancer for awhile HAPPY BLUE DAY TO ALL.

Hear You Loud and Clear :)
    Steve,

Sundance, our late golden retriever, ended up with Cancer and on his last day he had diarreah that was black liquid, like motor oil or something. The vet later concluded that his intestines had probably burst that day or the night before and he was in incredible pain. He had also gotten to where he could no longer walk or get up. I saw it all before the vet arrived that afternoon to put him down.

We had him 13 wonderful years and he knew when I had cancer too - he would lay his head down on the exact spots where my tumors for colon and liver were - how remakrable is that.

We waited 18 months and just got our new golden retriever, Harley, and he is trying to show us the way again in true golden fashion.

Harley was sick for the 1st time last night and we took him to vet - turns out he had Jarvis, which is some kind of bacteria that dogs can pick up eating grass when it is wet etc. Some medication and a fecal exam and $52.00 later we are back home.

But you are right, we will do anything to help them, because they cannot speak. I wish Sundance could have talked and told me what was wrong. We miss him still even with the arrival of a new one. That's what makes them all so special - their memories.

    Take care - Craig
