Sometimes I feel like someone is sitting on my neck!
Sometimes I just feel like someone of thing.......is sitting on my neck, sort of like a tight feeling and it really bothers me.
Anyone have a similar experience?

            My surgery, a left radical
My surgery, a left radical neck dissection was November 07. it is now April 2010 and I still feel like someone has their hand around my neck on the left side. The muscle is so tight. I take a muscle relaxer and a pain pill. I feel like it will never go away. hot compresses help to stretch the muscle along with the muscle relaxer and Neurontin. -

I have that too. Feels like I'm choking sometimes, especially when I yawn. Doctor said it should loosen up. Might be from scar tissue. I hope it gets better.
I had very little pain from my Thryoid surgery on 3/4 and 3/12. and now that the incision is healing I am noticing pain when I turn my head a certain way, and especially when I yawn. I'm going back to my surgeon for a checkup and will have it looked at. -

My original post was in February, I can definately say that it is better. I still feel it at times, and it is annoying, but I think about it less and feel it less. This is encouraging!!

Yes, it's nice to know I'm not alone. I have a had a large man sitting on the neck for 2 years! (Not literally) I found massages help. My massage therapist works on the scar tissue breaking it up. Some days the tightness and pressure are less and sometimes it comes back. At first I allowed that feeling to be a reminder that I had cancer and now I just accept that's how it's gonna feel sometimes. Hang in there!
