I am 30 years old and my mom (51) was recently diagnosed with Stage IV duodenal cancer and its really hard to find information on it. Is there anyone that has this type of cancer or knows someone who does? I am feeling so overwhelmed and underinformed. I am very close to my mother and this is probably the hardest thing I have ever had to face in my life so far. Any support or information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    my mother also
    Dear Hopeful,

I'm in the same situation. Looking for some info brought me here. I'm 45 yrs old and my mother is 67. We are still in first stages of this. She has cancer of the pancreas, liver and lymph nodes that has mestastise, they have been unable to locate the orgin. Today we heard cancer of the duodenum, further test will show if this is where the cancer started. She is starting chemo this week, but if they can show this is where the cancer started then the chemo could change. Been reading about a whipple surgery, has your mother been given this option, not sure if my mother would benefit since it has spread, guess we will get more info when test results come back. Your story hit along the same lines as mine, hope we can stay in touch, give each other comfort.
