Hi all my sisters and friends. Today is my birthday and I had the best presents this week. I finished Herceptin treatments, my hands have cleared up and I got my port taken out. They did give me a sedative to take the port out, but it was a pretty simple procedure. I am only a little sore. I never thought this day would come...but here it is..could it be that I will truley go on to be a survivor? brave and courageous like all of you. Well I sure hope and pray so! just as I pray for each and everyone of you angels here who have helped me do it!

    You truly do have much to celebrate this year!

    You have come through so much this past year. What a brave warrior in pink!

    You should be very proud of what you have accomplished and be able to celebrate a new Birth-Day being born into a new, cancer-free life (Hopefully there will be cake and ice cream involved)!

    Dear Jackie....I am so proud of you, as are so many more on this board. We have followed your journey every step of the way, and know that you have had your ups and downs. Just think, you don't have to go back to get any more treatments, and let's just add that this is going to be "forever". Congratulations on a job well done. We all have been there, and believe me, it is such a relief to be at the end of the road. To top it off....HAPPY BIRTHDAY to a special friend. Get going, and enjoy your special day. Hugs,

    Finishing Herceptin, hands clearing up ( YAY!!) and no port did not make you a SURVIVOR~ they were the icing on your birthday cake~ you have been a Survivor since the minute you woke up from your original surgery!

    And, I told you getting the port out would be Presto-Bingo, didn't I? LOL A bit of a tug and ta-da!


    You make me smile~ and I am so very happy that your birthday was celebrated with awesome things to make the day special! You of course are the Queen of the Day...and I am raising a glass in your honor! Happy Happy Birthday!!!

    I don't know where to begin. Oh yes, I know, Cake and ice cream of course. Seriously, congrats on your birthday, the hands clearing up, end of herceptin and having your port removed. Yes, you are a true survivor. It's amazing how it seems like this day (port removed and end of herceptin) would never be here and here it is. It's like punctuation at the end of a sentence. It means it's finished. So my prayer is that you have a great birthday, that your hands stay clear and that you never, ever have the beast again.
