I was diagnosed today with prostate cancer and am considering the davinci method. I am in the boston area and want to know if there is a place to research which doctor has the most surgeries and best feedback from patients?

I live in the Boston Area. Based talking to neighbors, co-workers (who have had prostate cancer surgery) and family, I decided to go with Beth Israel Deaconess. I have an appointment there next week for a second opinion. I'm afraid that there is no easy place to get feedback other than talking to others who are willing to share their own unique situation. Best of luck.

thanks for the reply--what method of treatment are you deciding on?

I'm still undecided but I have ruled out the combination of brachytherapy/radiation/hormone therapy. I'm primarily going to Beth Israel since my urologist only does the open procedure. If you are interested in the robotic procedure you may want to check out Lahey Clinic in Burlington. Best of luck.

I have been a member here since my diagnosis in June 09 and find this site to be very knowledgeable and supportive. However, I am also involved on another site that is much more active in Prostate Cancer.

You might want to check them out. There have been many posts such as yours and there has been a wealth of feedback. If I remember correctly there was recent discussion such as yours in your area.

Go to HealingWell.com and click on Forum & Chat. Then scroll down the page to Prostate Cancer. You will see that as of today there have been 6592 topics with 73558 posts. There is an absolute wealth of information there and many of the members posts daily. They have been through every facet and option of dealing with PCa.

Best of luck to you and your family,
