Hope Lodge

I have to bring my husband to a hospital in another state next week for treatment. They have set us up in the Hope Lodge, a free hotel for cancer patients. Has anyone stayed at one? The information says to bring your own food. It is a new facility, just wanted to know what to expect. Sheila

    nice place to stay
    We stayed at a Hope Lodge in New York. This is a great resource if your traveling for treatment. The rooms were very spacious, handicapped equipped, and they had a shared kitchen where you could do some cooking. Some people didn't like it that you couldn't eat in the room, but to me that was no big deal. The staff and volunteers were friendly and helpful, and it was a good way to meet other people going through the same thing.
    It was like a home away from home.

    Hope Lodge
    We stayed at the Hope Lodge in Burlington, VT. Very nice. Spacious, clean and for the first time since my husband has been sick, someone took care of both of us. Volunteers came in three nights and made dinner for all of us and I felt like we were all friends sitting around the dining room table enjoying each others company. The volunteers were amazing! Sheila
