I made it to number 8 of 12 and my onc told me that because of all the side effects I'm having that it's not worth going on. I go in today because I still have a blood clot from my first port that goes from my jugular to my arm pit. They scanned it a few days ago and it is the same from the July scan, not sure what they do for that. I've been on coumidin forever, and it's done nothing. My hands and feet are so numb from the oxi I can hardly walk or use my hands. I go in 2 weeks for a CAT scan to check if all is clear. I'm so sick of doctors and tests and pills and.......sorry, I'm nearing the end of my rope. I know there are people out there worse then me, just had to bi**h a little.

It is normal, healthy and that's what we are here for. I am sorry you are having such bad side effects. I pray your scans are good news, Marie

    Those are
some horrible side effects, I'm glad I didn't start on Oxy, but have they asked you about maybe trying Folfiri? or something else that may work?

Wow, I didn't think they left blood clots like that, especially from July! That is something that the hospital was concerned about when I last was there, that something needs to be done immediately with blood thinners, but if that isn't working, I don't know if they can surgically remove it? I haven't had one yet, but hope they do something more for that and not wait long, the way my doctor talked about blood clots, she made it sounds deadly, and that I would have to go to the ER room, and admitted should I have one, so they could take care of it.

Glad to see you Dave, you can vent anytime, it sure does suck to have this, but I have to keep thinking of the other things I am blessed with it as well, but **** away, I sure do have my days with it, and I know how it gets to you, it's ok to be angry!

    Hugsss!

Sorry to hear you're having the troubles with the chemo.
Try to hang on a bit more if you can, I know it's not always easy.
    Vent away dude.

    8 of 12
Hi Dave. Sorry to hear the side effects got so bad for you. On a positive note, I was only able to do 7 out of 12 chemo treatments, stage 4 cc, and I'm still here almost 5 years later now, just keeping an eye on things, a a liver lesion that's not growing or showing any uptake. Maybe the 8 treatments you could do have done their job for you.
Hope they can take care of that blood clot, there should be some way they can get that out of there so you can get off the coumidin.
    Best Hopes

    Sorry
So sorry you are having so much difficulty with the oxi. I know I had side effects too but it doesn't sound as bad as yourself. I'd be worried about the blood clot though. Hope they can remove it somehow. Glad to see you posting again and I hope you get to feeling better soon. Good luck on your CAT scan.

    Dave,

Disappointing as it is... I hope there is also some relief that they are stopping the treatments. We can only handle so much "side-effect suffering"! As mentioned above, let's hope that the 8 out of 12 is good enough!

I hope you begin to recover and find more relief soon. This clot sounds like a real concern!

And Hey, Dave... You don't have to apologize to us for letting off a little steam, frustration, or weariness with the whole thing! Vent on! And I'm glad you've got this place to do it!
