    good to see you too
I've been in and out. Have a lot going on and no time to think about much. Was supposed to be getting married the 30th of this month, but Nick's partner was dx'd with BC, and wedding is on hold. He is working hard both at the ramp and at his law office, trying to cover her cases and keep things going, and I have been working extra hours at the ramp to cover when he isn't there.

By the time I get home I am usually exhausted! still have the neuropathy in the hands and feet, and the weather is getting cold and it's getting worse again, achy bones and such. had a bad colonoscopy and have to go in 6 months for another one. we'll see, glad I'm too busy to worry about it. Also been on the BC pages asking questions for her, since I am the only one who has been through anything similar and i can't get her to log on there.

    Nice glass there......how are YOU?

    Hey Sheri!
It is nice seeing you post here, I've missed you, sorry to hear about your wedding being on hold, but it will happen soon! it's nice of you to help out his partner in her time of need as well, she ought to come here, we'll support her as well :)

I hate to hear people who have this neuropathy, I feel so bad for them and that awful pain, Folfiri doesn't give that, but who knows if they may put me on it as well, I'm so afraid of it, I know having it in the cold must suck! I hope you find something to help it.

Thanks for coming and posting, I love when you post, and I will say, that nice BIG glass in Nana's pic does look good :)

    Hugsss!

    Doing good
I can't complain too much, I'm still here! Finsished chemo about 4 weeks ago, feeling new aches and pains, thought I had a abscess there for awhile but later was told that it wasn't, so that is good. I have a scan in Novemember to see how I am doing off of chemo, hope that goes well. Are you done with chemo? I thought you were on the same schedule I was.

I sure hope you start feeling better.

    Glad that you are back.

    I was
But I started before you, and I didn't have surgery in the middle! I finished chemo May 15th (?). It took awhile for most things to go away, but the neuropathy never did totally. Hey - just try clapping at a concert - I've seen Lynard Skynard, Kid Rock, Randy Travis and Joe Nicols this summer - but anyway - that hurts! By the middle of September I thought it was about gone, but then the cold hit and here it is again! It's annoying but livable, until last night when the leg cramps started.

I don't see my onc again until December, and I assume he will order a scan then? I have yet to have one, just the colonoscopy. I guess it's wierd, or normal, but almost every pain I get around that area I feel like oh no, not again....

Helping an ex through her chemo (she finds out her cocktail and when today)....very wierd......

HAVE YOU TRIED TAKING VITAMIN B12? I read the following for neropathy

The most important nutrients for nerve cell growth and regeneration are: vitamins B6, B12, calcium, magnesium, alpha-lipoic acid and acetyl L-carnitine.

My 99 year old NANA says to use absorbine jr........smelly stuff.

Wish you well, let us know how the scan goes! Smile1

    I have the alpha-lipoic stuff
I just like to call it my acid (flashback to the 70's). haven't tried the B12, but I just may do that. absorbine jr., hmmmm...let me think - smelly? Only if I want to sleep alone...

And I don't suspect I will be having a scan at least until mid-December or later.

So, just WHAT is in that glass? I could use a good margerita!

    wasn't that
    the nasty strong wintergreen stuff?

Well, I won't get a margerita, but am heading out for dinner to Mancini's - a great steak joint - and will have a glass of wine for ya! Got one of the big wigs from the railroad in town, so it's not exactly a pleasure dinner, but I picked the place so at least I won't be bored by the food.....

    oh heck...
I don't mind wintergreen lifesavers (nick is addicted to them) but I don't want to SMELL like one!

I will have a few toasts for everyone - gonna have to do something to overcome the boring railroad talk....I'm just there because I am the "facility managers" girlfriend, who also happens to be the office manager - lol!

Having trouble now - can't find a thing to wear, and have to force myself to put on makeup and cover up the red splotchy face....(got really bad on chemo and won't go away). Hint - that mineral stuff isn't bad, and doesn't melt in minnesota (nothing else does either)!

    Hey Mags -
We're gonna have a warm up here this weekend - from 30's and 40's to 57 - WOW! Actually the cold isn't bothering me as much as it has in the past, the neuropathy is lots of fun tho. The chemo threw me all the way into menopause (which has been fun all by itself), so the cold is a welcome relief. The problem I am having is that wearing gloves and socks makes the rest of me hot and sweaty, so I have to find a way around this - brought slippers to work so I can take the boots off - lol!

My poor daughter came back up here in March and is having to get used to the cold all over again, and I'm not helping her when I turn the thermostat down and open windows!

Glad to see you back here again - sounds like you had a nice summer.

Yes we had a great summer....thanks.

I am way older than you and was nicely through menopause but the chemo put me back and now I am having hot flashes all over again.

When I get hot I get really really itchy, mostly on arms and trunk....have you had anythinkg like that? i am just assuming it is chemo related.

Wow 57 degrees....that's terrific.....enjoy....hope we get a little warmer....haven't cleaned up outside yet.

    All best love,

    hey....
yes Mags - itchies during chemo and sweating was tons of fun, and I still get that way at times. That's crazy tho - already through it and the chemo threw you back into the hot flashes eh? Funny - I remember a few years back making fun of a friend of mine going through it, and the arguments at work when she turned the air down so low ice would form on our noses! I was just starting something before this whole chemo thing started, so it just finished me off, which leads to..

Donna - I'm not complaining! As a matter of fact, I just got one of those sample things of tampons in the mail yesterday, and Nick was laughing asking if someone knew something I didn't know, since I keep waiting for it to return (and praying for it not to). I guess the worst part is the flashes always seem to happen when I am shopping, although not as much lately (better shut up before I jinx myself).

Dinner was nice, thanks for asking. Nick asked me to drive so he could have a few beers with the Bossman, so I had 2 glasses of Chardonnay, which was nice. Really nice restraunt, and I know it's not good for me, but they make one helluva steak. It's the kind of restraunt that only has about 4/5 things on the menu, and serve (only) an appetizer of marinated tomatoes, peppers, pickles and olives, along with garlic bread, and then a salad, followed by the steak and a potato or veggies - but they do it well! really nice ambiance and great service.

We finally have a day off together tomorrow - mark that on the calander - so I guess I may just get to dance a bit tonight!

    See ya later guys!
