After completing radiation and chemo for stage 1b lung cancer that they caught early by mistake the drs come back with you now have stage IV. After my husbands last treatment where all along during treatment they said things were looking good, they sent him home to wait until it was time to get the pet scan to see how well things went. They wanted to wait until the inflamation from radiation went down. When we went in expecting to hear good news, or the bad being it didnt work and you still have 1b, instead they said you now have stage IV. How does this happen right under their eyes. All along my husband told them he was still feeling lousy and felt he still had cancer.They said everything looks good on the CT's and the earlier pet scans didn't show anything therefore they felt he was wrong, only to find out he was right. What is the point of finding things early, if they are not prepared to handle it until it gets to stage IV????? I'm very angry and don't know who to trust. Now they have him on chemo, he feels lousy and again they are saying wait. THIS IS ALL HAPPENING AT THE 10TH BEST LUNG CANCER CENTER IN THE USA!! Do we need to goto number 1 or 2????
