Hi everyone- Been a long time since posting. My husband just had a second liver resection on Wed. After having 70 percent of his liver removed during an 8 hr operation, he is doing very well. Our journey, as some of you may recall, has been a major roller coaster with many highs and lows over the last 3 years from initial dx.( Colon resection, chemo, liver resection, rfa, and now another liver resection.) Am posting this primarily to urge you to be your own advocate , be persistant and never give up hope. Get 2nd and 3rd opinions. Keeping you in my prayers. God Bless & Keep the faith. |

I am glad you sought out other opinions. We are learning that you must do this if you want to beat this beast.
God bless to you and your husband. I will keep you in my prayers for more years of NED!

Great News
So glad to hear that your husband is doing great. We too have been on the roller coaster for three years. My husband had his liver resection with 75% of his right lobe removed the end of April. He too has had a dx of stage 4 colorectal cancer, a colostomy, repair to stoma and hernia, 4% of his right lung removed, and then the liver resection plus over two years of chemo. We know first hand how important second and more if needed opinions are needed. We were told from the beginning no hope and then final nothing left to do but maybe clinical trial. Sent to Vanderbilt where we received a second opinion and a new lease on life with the two latest surgeries. At the present time, he is NED. We go back in Sept for labs, scans, and dr appts. Thank you so much for encouraging others to get second and more opinions. It could save their lives. We will keep you and your husband in our prayers and that your future will only be filled with highs. May each day be better than the last and you have a long and healthy life together.
