Update on Mom

Hi :)

I know I haven't been posting much on here, but I do still look around the boards.

I just wanted to update everyone on my mom's status.

She will be receiving her 6th and final chemo on September 1st. After that, she will be having another CT scan on September 21st that determines if she needs to have surgery again.

Her 52nd birthday is September 26th.

My mom is not having any side effects anymore. She is excited for her hair to grow back, she wants to go back to work!

She is receiving home health care from the state and they are helping her with her strength. She walks a lot. She even drives sometimes too.

My boyfriend just left for school and I took it much harder than the previous years. My mom sensed that I was upset and came to see me. She will be coming home within the next week or so. So I am happy that I will not be alone.

    Last chemo! I pray all goes well with the tests that follow. Please keep us informed.

    May daugther's birthday is also September 26! You will have much to celebrate. I love the thought of teal nail polish - sure wish I could get by with that! But I'll be wearing my teal jewelry all month in September. I just spoke to someone yesterday who was not aware of ovarian cancer symptoms. So we definitely need to get the word out. I was disappointed last year that September came and went and I heard very, very little about OVCA at all. Let's hope this year is different.

    I was thinking about you and Mom the other day, I'm glad you posted.

    It sounds like Mom is doing well, that's great.

    Hi Brittany, your mom must be so glad to be having her last chemo! You have been a wonderful daughter to support you mom through this ordeal. Congratulations to both of you. My prayers for both of you.

    I hope you have one big celebration for NED and BIRTHDAY!!!! Thanks for posting and letting us know the upcoming last chemo. That is a milestone. Also your mom is doing so well with the treatment. Happy for you!. Saundra
