Difference between surgical colonoscopy and colonoscopy

Was going through paper work from my health insurance plan today and noticed two terms, and wonder if anyone knows what the difference is between surgical colonoscopy and colonoscopy?

    See Understanding How to Code Colonoscopies which says that surgical colonoscopy codes are 45380-45385, and describes those codes as colonoscopy procedures including snaring polyps and performing various other therapies. The term "surgical" seems to be opposed to "diagnostic".
