Hello everyone,
Has anyone ever heard of Tenanus? I tried looking it up but maybe I am spelling it wrong. The doctor seems to think that is what hubby has now. He is still going to the bathroom 25 - 30 times a day. They put him on Steroid suppositories twice a day and Lomotil 2 tabs 4 times a day to try to calm his bowels down.
Thanks for any input
Cheryl

The only thing similar that I know of is tenitis which is ringing of the ears from nerve damage. The chemo can cause it but it has nothing to do with the bowels.

    Check spelling
I do not see anything other than tetanus and I don't think that is it at all.

    Cheryl - there is something
Cheryl - there is something called "tenesmus", but it has mostly do with painful stools, constantly feeling the need to pass even though that doesn't happen. Not sure that sounds like what your husband has.

    Thank you
Betsy, thank you so much for that word. I just looked it up and the meaning is "a feeling of incomplete defacation" which is exactly how he feels. It can occur when someone has colorectal cancer or diverticulitis among other things.
Maybe the doctor is onto something.Hubby had both.
To everyone else that tried to help, thank you. I really had the spelling wrong.
