Hi all:

Diagnosed in May 2005, with 4 mets to the liver. Surgery July 2005, resected colon and liver. 10 months of folfox through a port, alternated every third week with hepatic pump infusions. Left with a few scars and neuropathty in the feet, but NED, and feeling stronger than ever. Doing everything I did before, and more, because I never realized how much the disease was sapping my strength.

Hang in there!!!

    Thank you
I really appreciate you posting, it brings great hope for us all. I am stage 4 and currently NED for the past few months. I have to do an Xray and blood work and see my ONC every 6 weeks. He wants to keep a close eye on me since the cancer came back so soon after the first go around. I pray to the LOrd that I too can one day post that I have been NED for years. The thought of it coming back scares the heck out of me. But like I said I pray and he knows whats best for me.

Thanks again and congrats...May you continue to be NED forever!!!

What a wonderful testimony to everyone here, but especially for our Stage IV's.

    CONGRATS
Another semi-colon dancing with NED. NED's dance card is getting full, but this partner never refuses a dance :)

    Wonderful
That is awesome news. Thank you for sharing that with us. I'm happy that your strength has returned and you are able to do so much now. I guess you really don't know how much the cancer has taken out of you until after you get your zip back. Congratulations.

Congratulations...a miracle. I was diagnosised with colon MET to liver in 2006..had a small lung reccurence in May 2009. Did you make any changes in diet during this period?

    I stopped eating red meat
I stopped eating red meat after my diagnosis on my oncologist's strong recommendation (he is also a good friend). He has me on vitamin D and calcium, selenium, and a multivitamin. I am somewhat careful about what I eat, but not at all fanatical. I found getting enough sleep is important for me as well.

I think the hardest thing is not to worry about a reoccurrence, which adds to the already high levels of stress.

    Good luck, and stay healthy!
