There is a Monster amongst us Growing stronger everyday
There is a Monster amongst us that does not want to go away
It infects our loved ones it destroys our dream
This Monster must be destroyed we can not let it live

It does not look at Nationality does not care who you are
Men Women and Children it invades us all
We have to Unite we have to be strong
We can win against this Monster
Before the Rising of a brand new Dawn

We use to sing of Peace and Joy
We use to soar with true delight
But now each day this Monster
Is invading our precious Lives

The laughter that we once shared
Seems to be drifting away
Because of this Monster who wants no one to succeed
Cancer is a Monster that can be destroyed
We can sing with excitement we can rejoice

We have to stand together and face it head on
Destroy this Monster so our loved ones can sing the winds sweet song
Let not this Monster take away your pride
Let not this Monster shine from within
Soar with a Spirit to fight
Soar with a Spirit to live
Destroy this Monster so we all can stand proud again

Thank you Tony for the amazing and uplifting poem. I needed to read that today, heading off soon for an investigative assessment of a new symptom today. Have been cancer free and considered cured for the last 18 years and now a troublesome symptoms surfaces. Hoping it is nothing but fearing the worst at times. Reading your poem helped. Thanks.

Take care and thanks again for posting. Blessings, Bluerose

    Hi Bluerose
Saw your post and just wanted to send you positive thoughts and a mental hug. When do you go for your test and get results?

PS - I like the picture, is that from Hurricane Ike that hit Houstan? It looks like it. I was at MD Anderson in Houston when Ike hit and I remember that one house standing all by itself on the coast. I felt that way many a day during my treatments, very symbolic picture for me and probably a lot of cancer patients and survivors.

    Hugs

    WOW!
    Tony,

You demonstrated how nearly everything talked about on the CSN board can be capsulized in one very well-written poem. I vote that you be designated the "Poet Laureate" of the CSN discussion board!

    Love and Courage!
