thymus gland

Well, this morning I spent my morning in the ER. I had been having pains in my left side and had not been able to sleep. Figured it was from going to the batting cage and playing softball two weeks ago. But wanted to make sure.

The short of it is, I have muscle relaxers for the muscle pain. Ruled out heart, lungs, blood clot or broken ribs. But found in the Catscan a mass on my thymus gland. Of course I had never heard of a thymus gland. ER doctor told me I should followup with a PETscan and did say this could be scar tissue as the gland atrophies after puberty.

Always something it seems like!!

In His Service,
Libby ☺

Dearest Libby, so sorry to hear about the trip to ER but so glad you went. Prayers the pain is under control and stays that way. I have heard mention of this gland being a dissapearing gland but never heard of mets to it or anyone dealing with pain from it.

When do you see your oncologist? Prayers that it is only scar tissue and you are right it is always something ~ or so it seems. Hugs N Prayers Bonnie

    Sorry
The thymus gland is in the upper part of the abdomen. My diverticulitis pain was in the lower left portion of the abdomen (most common site). The CT scan shows diverticulitis with the iodine dye. If the muscle relaxers don't work in a couple of days get checked again. No telling what our rearranged anatomy from the debulking surgery is telling us. I do know that after seeing my three surgery scars the surgeon that saw me in the ER did not want to do surgery!

Yep, it is always something! Hope you feel better by now.

    update
The relaxers worked on the strained muscles on my right side (I can roll over in bed again). I will pick up my report tomorrow from the catscan and take to my onc/gyn for app't on Thursday and go from there.

Have not been worrying about it, husband has more than me................you know how that is. But we both know Who is in charge.

Thanks for the hugs, prayers and love,

    Libby
