Ablation or chemo for RCC metastasis to pelvis and upper arm
deciding
CSN Member Posts: 1
I'm having trouble deciding upon the best mode of treatment. I was diagnosed with RCC in November of 2007 and in December 2008 found to have metastasis to the right pelvis and upper arm. My pelvis erosion has been cemented, my upper arm rodded and each have been radiated. I am still in remission, but my doctor wants to start me of Stutent since the tumors have not shrunk in size. I'm very sensitive to a variety of medications and the side effects of Sutent
really scare me. I've heard of ablation therapy and am wondering if anyone has had any experience with it and if so, any success. I'm looking for a urological oncologist or interventional radiologist, or both, with the Mayo Clinic. All suggestions and personal experiences would be most appreciated.
