Mu onc had a list of these recipes printed out in her office, and thought I'd share them with you, especially pasgal, who I know's dad doesn't like Ensure, but maybe he'll drink it like this, to add some extra weight as well! I haven't tried these yet, but let me know if you do and like them...here they are..some don't have ensure, but still sounded good: Fuzzy Navel In a blender, combine all ingredients, blend until smooth, pour into tall glass and serve!! Nutty Butter In a blender, combine Ensure and peanut butter, blend until smooth, pour into glass and serve Cocoa Diablo Combine all ingredients in a small pan or microwave safe cup. Heat on stove or in microwave to serving temperature, DO NOT BOIL! Stir well before serving. Minty CHocolate Double Peach SLush 1- 8 oz peach yogurt In a blender container, blend together peach yougurt and peaches, with blender running, add ice cubes one at a time, blending to form slush. Berry Yogurt Smoothie 6 ounces of nonfat vanilla yogurt Place all ingredients in a blender and process until smooth...drink immediately Creamy Fruit Smoothie 3 cups of fruit Place all ingredients in a blender: cover. Blend until smooth. For a tropical sensation, follow directions using a mixture of mango, paapya and pineapple to make up to 3 cups. Chocolate Cookie Shake 1 cup Chocolate Ice Cream IN a blender, nlend together the ice cream amd milk. Add the cookie and blend until it's coarsely crushed. Makes 2 servings. Hope it's enjoyable for some! don't blame me if it's grosss.. I may try those ensure ones though, give it more flavor LOL..I bet a banana with the Ensure blended in would be good. Pas, maybe your dad may like it better with some of the added ingredients, and can help gain his weight! Hugsss! |

They do!
My anti-depressants do work for me,and really, shopping is a boost for the immune system and great exercise walking around, even if you're not there to buy anything, I'd go just because being out makes me feel better, glad to hear you're doing good, and I think I may go shopping tomorrow! LOL..I need some books, maybe hit the Borders! and Starbucks of course :)
Hugsss!

Yum those recipes sound
Yum those recipes sound fabulous BUT the chemo I was on( Xeloda, oxi, folfox, folfiri, avastin, irinotecan, et) rendered me lactose intolerant (goodbye yogurt, milk, etc) and many folks end up having diahreha from the fake sugars in things like Ensure and some fruits. If you make smoothies from soy milk ( vanilla or chocolate or plain) and Egg white powder mix or soy powder and bananna it may be easier to avoid the digestive 'fall out" LOL.
