After surgery my doc sent nodes and whatever to pathology and he said it came back inconclusive. What the heck does that mean??????? my husband asked that question while doc was removing staples and i wasnt listening.... husband left it at inconclusive...what???

    Let me try and take a stab at it......
    If you have had radiation and chemo before surgery then it is quite possible that the nodes surrounding the tumor or cancer were destroyed beyond the ability of the pathologists to determine whether they were involved or not. The radiation seems to burn them to a crisp to where cancer cells cannot be detected...Im thinking that post op chemo would be the option to assure the best success for non re occurance percentages...That though is only my guess on the post op chemo.....most opt for post op chemo just to be on the safe side in case something did slide away........better safe than sorry approach....Good Luck...
