I only found this site about two weeks ago but I have received many more positive things than negative (even if the negative was a huge one). I am still very thankful for each one of you and the support you give. It is wonderful to held up by other when one feels too weak to go on or is hurting. You have all been a blessing to me already and I cannot tell you how much I have praised you all to my friends abd fellow BC survivors.
Thank you again and you are all in my prayers.

this is the first time
since i joined in Dec. not anything like this has ever happened. I still know i can trust all my pink sisters here. We have been through so much together. We will get past this too. Yes i will still pray for Kourtnee and whatever her dilemma really is. This just shows us what very kind and caring warriors we are! reading all your posts..you were all such loyal and beautiful sisters, and i love you all even more for it. We can't start not trusting the ones who have been with us or every new one who comes on. Look what we would miss! all your help and support has always been such a blessing for me.

Yes we DID!! WOOHOO!!!
We were able to go to the playoff games and it was amazing. Still love my Soup even if my hubby and son give me a hard time about it. He is such a good man that I have to keep loving him even if he is expensive!
(That hat has my fake hair attached to it. This year I have my own. Actually I just got my first haircut yesterday.

The fall the Brewers made it to the World Series was also the fall I began grad school. Mom and Dad had three tickets for each home game; my brother and my sister were able to make it home from college. But I, alas, was stuck in Iowa City and never got to join in the fun. The fact that I still had my hair was no consolation. And as luck would have it, I wound up living in Cardinals territory: here in Springfield we even have the Cardinals' Double-A farm club.
But fear not, Rita: even if I were tempted to stray from my calling as a Brewer fan, I am positive that my Mom, who is up in Heaven watching the games and discussing strategy with Bambi, would never let me get away with it for long!

I'm glad to hear you haven't given your baseball devotion up to anyone else. BUT.. if you were to, at least the Cardinals are good fans. A lot of them come here for the games with the Brewers and they are all very nice an polite fans. I really enjoy going to those games unlike some teams, I won't mention any names (Cubs).

Mom hated the Cubs with a passion. Not that Mom was a hater - as individuals she didn't have problems with any of them except for the announcer Ron Santo, whom she considered a freaking loudmouthed idiot - but the mere idea of the Chicago Cubs baseball team made steam pour out of her ears.
Back when the Brewers were in the AL and I was a drunken young college lout, we used to have some fun run-ins with White Sux fans. I had a SOX helmet with the top part of the O blacked out, which attracted lots of comments from the north siders. But for all that, the Sux fans were beer swilling louts just like us, who had the sad fate of being born FIB. Whereas the Cub fans were all quiche-eaters who found Harry Caray (the only good thing about the team) "quaintly earthy" or something like that.0 -

The very first thing my husband said about all this was "How do you know it's not a wind-up?"... I was horrified! What a nasty thing to say! I daren't tell him. Rita, I am glad that you find these boards more helpful than hurtful and have decided to stay on. The real tragedy in all of this would be if anyone turned away from the group for this reason. What we have here is overwhelmingly good and precious. I only hope that we continue with our spirit of generosity with every new member that comes on. I will trust everyone until there is clear reason not to (as there was with Kourtnee/Megan/Melody). Trust and compassion are beautiful and no one should ever feel ashamed or naive for having them.

I have a bad, bad feeling that while you are loving me, it's probably not the best time for me to mention that I am a rabid NY Yankee fan, is it?????( Best team money can buy...and also the worst team money can buy~ go figure!!)

Lucky for you that Moopy and I love you as dearly as we do. Because back when the Brew Crew was in the American League, we hated the Yankees like nobody's business. And only part of it was because they were so damned dominant...0 -

Thanks for the laughs. I love it. We aren't big Yankee fans here either but then money can buy just about anything. I just don't think it is all that rewarding to be a 'winner' just because you have more money than anyone else. No I'm not a sore (poor) loser. Even if they stole CC out from under us! 0 -

Thanks Mimi. There is no way I will allow some crazy person to ruin this wonderful blessing that I have found. Again..thank you all. You have already helped more than you could believe! I hold no grudge against Kourtnee/Melody/Meg/Meg's mom. I know that the sick of mind need as much prayer as the sick of body and I will continue to pray for her.
I know that we can continue to help each other and other new survivors and we will not give up.

Hello, Rita. Just like you, I joined this amazingly fabulous group just about 2 weeks ago. Although originally horrified (and a little frightened, too, actually) by the recent cruel hoax - I refuse to allow some evil nut job to spoil what I know in my heart of hearts is a magnificently wonderful thing to be a part of.
So, good for you! - for deciding to stay firmly put here, as I have done. And, good for me, too - because I'll continue to have the opportunity to get to know you, and so many other sincerely & wonderfully kind & caring souls. Thanks.

Moopy and I were united in marriage by Rev. Ray O'Connor - a Chicago boy whose devotion to the White Sox is exceeded only by his devotion to God. We ribbed each other mercilessly. One day I was driving down a main street in town and found myself stuck between some clown in a black Chevy. I got by him in the left lane and was just about to honk my horn and flip him off when... it was a kindly looking older guy in a White Sox cap. You guessed it... it was Father Ray.
Later on I told him that story. I asked him innocently what the penance was for flipping off a priest. "Ha!" he replied. "You think there could be any penance for flipping off a priest?"0 -

My cousin got married in Oak Park a few years back, so the Moopster and I made a vacation of it. It was wonderful.
And in case you wonder what the "23" in Moopy23 stands for, let me say only that I consider myself merely Moopy's second favorite tall bald guy. Back when MJ was dominating the court, all life STOPPED at our house while Moopy watched the Bulls. And when he came back to Chicago with the Wizards, I dropped more money than I care to remember for a pair of third-deck seats so she could go see him. The look on her face when he finally came out on to the court to an explosive standing ovation was worth every dime I paid.0 -

Speaking of memory...or should I say forgetting. Here's a good one.
Wednesday evening I came home from shopping and got out of my car to unload my purchases. By the time I was going to close the car up I had lost the keys. They were nowhere to be found. My hubby looked all over the car, I emptied my bags, my purse, everything. Finally Thursday evening I remembered that I quickly hid 1 bag that had my husbands birthday gift in it. Wala, there they were, in that bag. (This was last night mind you) Then this morning...I could not find my hubbys birthday gift anywhere. I wished him a happy birthday and told him that someday I would find his gift and give it to him (it was a Brewers jacket). I searched and searched when I got home from work tonight. No where. About an hour ago I remembered that I decided to take it out of the bag and hang it up so it wouldn't he wrinkled so he actually got his birthday gift on his birthday. He still loves me. Just gotta love this chemo brain! Keeps me on my feet - since my mind doesn't work.
