Thanks for all the warm words as I went through the waiting game.
I was BLESSED BLESSED BLESSED to get my results (MRI of thorax, abdomen, pelvis, brain) very quickly (24 hrs!).
And I am ALL CLEAR - NED. Yea!!!
Brief summary for those who don't know my story: I was diagnosed with rectal cancer 6+ years ago (!). I have had 3 recurrences -- each time a solitary lung met -- removed surgically and followed by "mop up" chemo. My latest surgery was June. I'm now on "maintenance/preventative" chemo (Xeloda).
My 'pattern' seems to be recurrence every 18 mos or so. I'm certainly not out of the woods yet -- and I may be looking at prolonging the time until another recurrence, rather than "cure". Although that is not what is on my prayer/wish list! (My oncologist said recently "I've seen some miracles with maintenance chemo" and I replied "I'll take one of those, thank you").
Anyway -- I'm babbling now, silly with joy.
My heart and prayers go out to those who are waiting for results
And thanks again for your support. It means the world to me.
