Cisplatin/Gemzar

Hi Kathleen,

bet you are glad to be home. I have not had cisplatin but know women who have. Some it made them feel very sick, nausea mostly, and others not bad. I think it is like carboplatin and for me carbo put me in bed for about a week. I have had the gemzar and its not bad, run a fever and feels a bit like the flu, in fact the gemzar is what I am suppose to be on now.

Closing my eyes and opening my heart to send lots of positive energy and prayers your way.

PS Where in the states did you have your surgery? I have 2 friends that go back n forth to Japan every couple months. I will have to ask where there family is at. Where are you at.

I have been wondering where you were, Kathleen. How did the second surgery go? Was it as bad as the first? I have not had anything but Carbo/Taxol combo as of now. Still on the anti estrogen. Will see my surgeon on Wed. It seems to be holding my bad cells back at this time. How many rounds of chemo will you take this time? I will be praying for an easy go of it for you. keep us posted as you can for specific prayer request.

I will be flying into Tokyo on Mar. 19 and staying until Apr. 2. We will be traveling throughout the country during that time. Hearing my son preach at his church in Saitiama City on the 22nd. He says some may be in English. We are so excited.

You should check out www.gerson.org. The Gerson Institute is in San Diego. The clinic is in Mexico. The natural cure for cancer is not approved in the USA, dah, the doctors should get with it. Their approach is Organic fruits and veggies and lots of juicing. I was dx after I had a hysterectomy in Dec of 2005. Quite a shocker for me since I come from 5 generatons of Chiropractors.My CA-125 was 44 and she never seemed concerned.The MRI showed a mass blocking the ovary...well the mass turned out to be the ovary filled with MR.C. Two of my brothers are Chiros, so they immediately were on the phone with nutrition that I should be taking along with the Chemo to keep my body from being ravished by the drugs. She approved everything and then stated that she wished both health sciences could work together. So along with the help of my Reike master and my Dr and Chiropractic, it was walk in the park. I made it two years and then at my year testing in May of 2008, she found 3 areas of concern, so back I went...only this time through I followed as close as I could the diet from the Gerson Institute. My mission is to solve the mystery as to why my cells are bad and my immune system keeps breaking down. I know I will succeed..There is not much that I consume that is not Organic and to tell you the truth, it all tastes better. Even the chocolate bars. The way I look at it, why would you want to put agro chemicals in your body along with the poisoning ones of the chemotherapy.Your cells never have a chance..invest in the book Healing the Gerson Way....you will not want to put it down..I truly believe, it is not the cancer that kills, but the Chemo..

Thanks, surgery went well. Lungs and liver were clear, they took out my spleen, and some other spots. I have always bounced back well from surgery but they told me to expect it to take a bit longer this time since I have had 4 now. So, considering all that, I am doing well. I head into the hospital this am for the cisplatin/gemzar. I will be there a week, as they are very strict about the hydration afterwards for the cisplatin. I hate to leave the kids yet again, but the good news is that I am close by and they can come in and see me. And I can get lot's of sleep.

Bonnie, I live in Nishinomiya which is right in between Kobe and Osaka. I had surgery at the Women's Cancer Center in LA area. My doc is a very skillfull surgeon and I feel very blessed to have met him. He has saved my life. They would not do surgery here for me at my very late stage OVCA and I would not be here if Dr E didn't let me in on short notice to see him in 6-07.

Saundra, let me know your contact info and if you do come through this neck of the woods we will have to do lunch or at least coffee.

My e-mail address is mamasandy@mac.com and I will check it when I am in Japan. We plan to go to Yokohama/Kamakura, Kyoto, Nagasaki, Himeji or Nara while there. Our schedule will be set as to how my son feels. He is currently in an extreme arthritis flare up with strange things happening. Going to the hospital this week to get checked out. We will travel as we can and do as much as we feel like it. I can only walk about a mile without having to sit and he is about the same way or worse.

You may be in chemo again by the time we get to the Kyoto area but we plan to spend about three days there. I could come to you if you can e-mail contact info. My son's work is too sensitive to post his contact. Will explain if I get to see you, but I am sure you understand, being in the same line of service.
