uterine leiomyosarcoma

I am 53 years old just recently diagnosed with a "high risk" Stage II uterine leimyosarcoma
I have had uterus, tubes and ovaries removed. Unfortunately the tumor has spread outside the uterus into some of the surrounding fat tissue and the cervix. I do not have evidence of spread anywhere else in my body. My oncologist is proposing chemotherapy followed by radiaition to my pelvis. From everything I read chemotherapy has not been very successful in preventing the sarcoma from returning. Has anyone had similar experiences? has the cancer stayed away with treatment for at least some period of time. I have 2 daughters 7 and 10 years...and am quite aanxious to be around with them for some time to come

    leiomyosarcoma
How are you? It's been a long time since your post and I hope that things have gone well for you.

I've just been diagnosed with leiomyosarcoma as well. Are you available to communicate with me? I'd like to hear about your experience so far.

    Leiomyosarcoma too
    Hi ladies,

I hope that your treatments are going well. My mother was diagnosed with this cancer (too late) and passed away in 2006. When the doctors here at home blew her off when her tumor was the size of an olive, 4 mos later we found Dr Greiff at Cancer Treatment Center in Tulsa, OK, who operated and succesfully removed THE 24lb tumor from her Uterus. Please move fast and don't let anyone give up on you.

Best wishes and prayers to both of you..

    leimysarcoma of the uterus

I too was diagnosed with stage 1 LMS found in one of the fibroids removed during a total hysterectomy on 12-8-17 .  I would like to know how are you doing today and what kind of treatments did

you have .  Wishing you and your family the best.

    pvaritimidis, these are older

pvaritimidis, these are older posts (2009 and 2010) and you might find a little more activity on the Uterine board.  Not sure I recall how many women with leimysarcoma but you will be welcomed with open arms.
