ct scan tomorrow

I am having my ct scan tomorrow. the first one since end of oct.I am on the avastin clinical trial so I still go in for an infusion every three weeks. but don't know if it is avastin or placebo. not even the doc knows. they left a 5 cm mass in me during surgery becasuse it was wrapped up in my main arterie to the liver. and I have a small nodule in my right lung. the ct scan in oct showed a 35% reduction in size so am praying tomorrow that it didn't grow at all and that everything will stay the same as it is right now.even with all the aches and pains. because of reading everyones post here I know that even if things have grown and spread that there is still a lot to try and thats a comfort. my overian cancer they said is undifferientiated with clear cell qualitys so they say that is usually agressive and spreads easy but everyone is different. I am also a little nervous about the ct scan because I had a little hive after wards the time b-4 last so they gave me prednisone the night b-4 and that am and I still got the little hive again so the radioligist said I couldn't have the iv stuff anymore but then it wouldn't be a good reading so I talked to the doc and he said to take the prednisone again and benadryl so I guess I will be very relaxed during the scan this time. sometimes it just feels good to share wow what a releif I feel. teal hugs and prayers to everyone.     I have my CT scan in Feb because I had one in Nov.....I had a lipoma(nice name for fatty tissue tumor) on my right side /rib cage which they removed in Nov.2008 Biopsy showed no cancer and CA 125 stays at 8 I don't know what kind of OVCA that I had but will sure ask next time I see the Dr.

    Dear Laura,

    Good luck with your CT scan. I don't have a reaction to the IV, but I'm always worn out after a scan, and I wonder if others have that effect, also.

    And, hopefully, that nodule on your lung will be even smaller!

    Hi Groundeffect.
    I always feel drained and very tired but don't know if it is from the scan or from the anxiety. I do have alot of anxiety still. The bone scan I had wasn't as bad as the CT scan for some reason.

    I hope all goes well with your CT, Laura. I haven't had a reaction yet to the contrast (and I get triple contrast!), but I'm not fond of that warm, yucky feeling you get with it. Please let us know how it goes and about your results. And you are right - there are tons of options out there.

    Hi Laura, Make sure you drink lots of water afterwards. I bring a bottle with so I can start drinking it right away to flush all the crap they give us for the scan out of my body.

    As you can see we all got you covered in prayer and will be here waiting to read an update.

    thanks so much everyone. I'm just getting ready to get in the shower to get ready to go but I thought I would check on here for the encouragement. in a bit I get to start drining the ycky stuff but oh well. maybe my ct will come out good. and thankyou Bonnie for the reminder about the water. I have a big bottle to take with me for right after and it is still in the kitchen I better put it by my purse or I will forget. thankyou for all the prayers. I will be seeing the doctor tomorrow b-4 my infusion so they said I can get the results then. that will be the soonest I ever got ct results so that will be nice. teal hugs and prayers to all of you guys.     Hi, Hope all will be good news :-) I too get a scan tomorrow, 1/20/08. It will be a PET/CT. My first since finishing chemo mid November. Kinda nervous, not about the procedure, but the 'what if ' they find something??? Supposedly all my cancer was 'out' at time of surgery. So I have continued to maintain that thought.
    I hope you got all your pre meds before the ct, hives are not fun.
    Isn't this a great place to check in on and catch up, and learn. Thank goodness for the internet....makes me feel not so lonely. Lets keep spreading the TEAL to everyone!!!!!!!!!!!! I might just have to get some braclets and hand them out....hmmm.
    Love to you all, and please say a prayer for my friend Carlotta, who passed away just a week ago. She was so brave and had fought very hard, but was just too tired to carry on. Julie:-)

    I also get premedicated before the dye in CT scans. I have had so many that I now have to double the dose of benedry and take it 24 hours after. That keeps the rash down. They also make me sit there
    with the IV needle for 30 min. after to make sure I don't have a larger reaction. My rash takes at least 12 hours to pop out. Saundra

    Hi all, I got the basics of my ct scan today it said a slight increase in the size of the mass and that other findings appear stable. it also called the tumor partly necrotic. I'm thinking that means part of it is dead but I have an e-mail in with more questions to my doctor. I think I am going to sleep well tonight thankyou for all the prayers. Laura

    Hi Laura, that sounds like great news, I am saying a prayer of thanks.

    I had my scan today. Probably get results on if they have grown or what I need to do next. I am happy for you Laura. For the first time I took an anxiety pill and I breezed thru it better. Ct Scans aren't that bad but I for some reason have panic attacks sometimes. Anyway had scan on neck chest and abdomen. So will see.

    That horrible liquid
    The only problem I have with CT scans is the horrible liquid. I swear the styrafoam cups get larger and larger each time. I'm surprised I haven't been scheduled for one in over a year. But other than that, I have no problems at all with CT scans. Just thinking about it, I can taste it in my mouth.......
