My husband was diagnosed with stage 3C colon cancer last month. He had surgery and is recovering from a wound infection. He recently joined this discussion board and has found great comfort in discussing a shared enemy (cancer). I would love to hear from others who have experienced what we are about to undertake.

    Welcome Jenny
    I Jenny,

Welcome to a club that no one really wants to belong to! You have come to the right place.

My husband has stage 4 colon cancer, 3 surgeries later, the chemo run, and now he is about to start radiation tomorrow. You did not mention if your husbands cancer had gone thru the wall or not. Please let me know.

As a caregiver you have to take some time out for yourself, as well as taking care of yourself! Please feel free to e-mail here if you want. I know when we first started this journey I was so lost and didn't know which way to turn, I happened upon this site, and I swear it is what has kept me sane.

    I wish you both well!

    Hugs,

    Sue

    Thanks
Thanks for the welcome. Good luck to you and your husband, I will be thinking of you both. Yes, unfortunately my husband's cancer had gone through the wall of the colon. 7 of 17 lymph nodes were positive for cancer cells. As of now they have found no evidence of metastisis. We are very hopeful.

Thanks for the warm welcome and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

    chat room
    Hi Jenny,

My husband passed away in 07 with lung cancer. I found that the best place to find out information is the CSN chat room. There are many people in there with different kinds of cancer, along with survivors and caregivers. We talk about any and everything. So it can help you set your mind at ease and let you vent some too.
Also Friday the 22nd in room 2 at 12 noon pacific time (california) i will be in the chat room hoping that other caregivers will come in and talk about whatever is on their minds.
If you are there with your husband going through everything with him, you are a caregiver. Come and talk about what your going through. You might get some needed answers and get help on how to take care of you while taking care of your husband.
    Hugs and Prayers
