Well, I'm not quite sure what time it is...between a 10-hour time difference, and a 14-hour flight, I figure that it's 3 weeks from last Tuesday now...rofl! The trip was fabulous! We had some adjustment to living our lives based on 37 people, with time schedules...but for the rest...well, 'squattie potties', MAJOR amounts of lamb (kabop...yes, with a 'P'), and some incredible weather, we had SUCH a grand time! I had my first Turkish bath (and the Turk bathing me was swarthy and strong..mmmm...he even washed my hair!!!), saw more ruins than I thought existed anywhere, and even used the bathtub as a washing machine when we ran out of clothes...lol...to have a t-shirt laundered, it would be 14 Turkish Lira...about 10 dollars...EACH!. I told Hans that for my services, I needed another sparklie...rofl!. Near the end, it grew cold, and unfortunately many of our bus got headcolds (me included). So, I am going to take it easy today...just lazy, I guess. I drank Turkish coffee, the original Chai tea (spelled Cay in Turkish), sampled Turkish delight and Turkish Viagra (these were candy, I promise!), ate MANY sweets with honey...mmmm...but still managed to not gain weight. We did ALOT of climbing and walking. So that's it in a nutshell...pictures to follow at some point...we took over 1000! Hugs, Kathi |

welcome back!
I am so glad you had such a good time, Kathi! The turkish bath sounds wonderful, the squatty potties, not so much! Memories for a lifetime! Not sure I'm interested in discovering life without western civilities, but I always enjoy other's pictures and stories!

Turkish Delights!
Yayayayaya! Kathi is back!! You were certainly missed around here, Kathi... but it sounds like you had a fabulous time!!! With lots of pictures to stir up those good memories whenever you feel you want to be back there :) And that is perfect that it started to get cold just before you came back home... the perfect ending for a perfect vacation!! :)
Hehehe... for me, it would be the climbing and walking that would do me in... I would love to be able to do that but right now, that wouldn't be a possibility. But, a girl can dream!! :D

sounds great
Hi Kathi,
I'm glad to hear you had a great trip! I love traveling too, and look forward to being able to go somewhere fun and exotic! Have you been to any other "interesting/exotic" places? I guess I count in my "exotic" travels China, Thailand, Egypt, and Israel. I'm enjoying my memories from those trips all over again just thinking about them! I haven't actually traveled Europe yet- it seems so much tamer- but I still do look forward to going there.
What a wonderful diversion from thinking about the crappy cancer!!!
Take care,

Turkish Baths and Turkish delight! That sounds great. Is Turkish delight any different over there?

one more thing
Hi again Kathi,
I forgot to mention in my other post how I know what you're talking about with the Turkish bath. I haven't experienced it myself, but my husband has. Back before we were married, he went on a Holy Land trip and part of that trip was in parts of Turkey. He and another single friend (they were in their early 20's) wanted to experience this Turkish bath. I hope your experience wasn't the same- they had to strip completely naked and leave their clothes, wallets, everything in another room as they were lead from room to room for the bathing, the rubdown, etc. Nothing perverse went on, but they were scared "youknowwhat"less the whole time! They did find their clothes and money intact when it was all done.
Makes for a funny story now.
