good dr. on long island

Just been told the bad news. PSA 3.3, Gleason 7, 3 positive hits out of 12 on biopsy (4+3, 3+4, 3+4). Seeing my urologist 10/24 for his options and opinions. Cat scans (pelvic and abdominal) and bone scan ok. leaning towards robotic laproscopy if I can find a GOOD Dr. in my insurance plan. I am in Nassau county on long island ny. Any suggestions or info appreciated. Thanks.

    I'm in the exact same boat your in, I was going to use my local urologist, decided to go with Dr. Ash Tewari at Presybterian Hospital in NYC. Look him up on the net, see his research, his successes/outcomes, his background, then go meet him, he's a warm, confident man, a spectacular surgeon, once you do, you'll feel the comfort and trust I've experienced.
    I have a robotic prostatectomy scheduled with him in a couple weeks.
    I will post up on this site with my experience.
