To all of our dear SemiColon friends...

This is my first log-in to CSN in quite some time due to my full plate here on the ship. I have missed each of you.

Words cannot express my gratitude for how so many of you responded to katie's post regarding her new cancer. Your genuine love, support, and encouragement - which have been the hallmark of our little group for as long as I can remember - were evident. I know Katie's fighting spirit was buoyed-up by your words and prayers. Especially in my absence.

We are leaving Gibraltar today bound for Malta where I will leave the ship and head home to be with her. She is ready to take on the dragon again and I am ready to be her back-up.

I wish I could have been home sooner, but regulations require I have an on-site relief Executive Officer here who has been fully briefed before I can depart the ship. He arrived from the west coast last night and once we get the ship safely to Malta, I will be able to depart.

Thank all of you for being there for Katie. You mean the world to both of us.

- SpongeBob

You and Katie never have to say thank-you to your family here. We are here all the time supporting you and others with prayers, thoughts, vibes, hugs, etc., everyday.

We will pull together and be ONE strong force for you and Katie during this time as well as all the others fighting this beast.

We are ONE and we are STRONG

Thank you, my love, SpongeBob. And thank you to my Semi-Colon friends. It truly means so much to know I have a community of people here at CSN who "get" it, who can relate to the cancer experience and offer that special support and friendship that only survivors and other caregivers can. CSN is a wonderful place of hope and friendship.

Thank you everyone....I'll keep you posted as things develop further. I should know something about surgery and treatment by later today.

    Hi Bob,

I was out of town when Katie posted her news. I am so sorry that Katie is having to once again deal with cancer. However, I am so happy that she has you.

Please know that we are here for you both.

    Hurry Home!

    Hugs to you both,

    Kay

    SB & Katie,

So sorry to hear about the latest development. I guess I better catch up on some post reading. Man, a lot can happen when one leaves town on vacation.

Katie, have you ever read Spontaneous Healing by Dr. Andrew Weil? It was so helpful to me in embracing a life that included a cancer dx.

Good thing you're in good hands and are a pro in this realm.

    Prayers are with you both.

    peace, emily

ROTFLMFAO!!! Mark, you crack me up :)

Okay, please come to Carolina in the Winter - you can polish my bald head, like a Christmas ornament, but only if you will draw my eyebrows back on my face and make me look like a movie star...you seem like the artsy, fartsy type....

    You're the best!

    Hi Emily,

Thanks for your love and support...It means a lot to me. And no, I have not read Dr. Weil's book...yet.

If I do in fact lose a part of or all of my stomach, I think juicing will be a huge part of my recovery. You might hear from me on the private line to ask for some tips.

    Hugs,
    Katie

Tomorrow I have another endoscopy for more biopsies and photos, and a PET scan on Thursday. I'll keep you posted.

Oh please, oh please let it be...I know the Italians and French believe in the virtues of red wine. I want to be a believer too...

And I can't wait to spend some time with our dear friend, Mary Merlot...lol....

(Cheryl, you'll learn all about Mary at Palooza - so glad you'll be there!)

Katie, Good luck with all of your tests. I will be praying that this is just a bump in the road. Look at your mom and know that this too will turn out ok.
