I have been diagnosed with cystocele and rectocele recently. Doc says it may or may not be related to earlier surgery (colectomy to remove about a foot of colon with the cancer). Have any of you experienced this? It is fairly common in older women, but I'm not menopausal yet. Help!

I had that surgery 5 years before my cancer diagnosis. I was also premenopausal. i was 41 and had a hysterectomy also, but kept my ovaries. The surgery was much easier to recover from than the colon resection. I would suggest that a urogynocologist does the surgery. If you have any more questions you can email me.
