Here's my story, I'll be 46 in several weeks, Dec 04 I was diagnoses w/ CRC and liver mets. I had two lesions on my right side and one on my left. Six weeks into my Folfox treatment the lesions on my liver disappeared. Several months later I had a colon resection, several months after that I had 5wks of radiation. That takes us up to Sept 05, I was pronounce NED. Fast forward to Feb 06, one of the lesions on my liver returned. Had open liver surgery to cryo the lesion. Four weeks later I was back at work and enjoying life. Fast forward to Nov,07. The pesky lesion that we cryo'd a year and a half earlier, returned! On Nov 20, 2007, I had open liver surgery to remove the right lobe of my liver. The surgery was successful, 3wks later I went back to work part time and today I feel good. I meet with my Oncologist on Thursday and he's said that I'm "unusual case". He's still not sure if he's going to recommend a second line of chemo. He was certain that the latest cancer episode was a result of the surgeon not getting all the cryo'd lesion. THe good news is that it's been about 3 years since we've seen the lesion on the left lobe! I'm scheduled for a Pet Scan mid Feb. If the results are negative, it's business as usual, if not, it's either evastin or folfiri.
I'll keep you posted...

    Hi Buster,
Yeah, it's a bumpy road alright, but it sounds like things are well under control. Hopefully this time you will have no more problems. You can read my webpage. I had a bumpy road too, but now so far, so good. You will see....time will pass and after a couple of years or so you will be amazed that you are actually cancer free! I still have a hard time wrapping my head around it after all I went through.
Take it easy and enjoy life! Don't stress too much about the PET scan, there is no reason to think it would not be just fine.
    Take care,
    Susan H.

Hello and welcome. Sending positive thoughts and prayers for a negative PET . Waiting is so nerve-wracking. You've had a bumpy road no doubt, but sounds like your handling the bumps one at a time just fine! Think positive on an all clear and keep us posted. God Bless.
