Dead Lung Tumors - Scar Tissue

Hello:
My dad's ct/pet in May 07 showed spots on the lungs. All of these spots showed shrinkage on the September ct. On his recent pet/ct, one of the spots lite up (first to ever lite up). Is it possible that the other spots are dead. What happens to lung tumors if they die? According to the oncologist at hopkins, when liver tumors die, they become scar tissue. Is this also true of lung tumors? Any ideas??

He was on Vextibux and 5 flu from June to September. The doctor switched him to eribitrux and added a pump every other weekend beginning the end of September.libris said:Spots can not light up on a pet scan for more than one reason. What has his treatment been between May and September?
