Update on Mom

Hello Everyone,
Last week we went to see my mom's onc. She decided that we needed to address the tumor in my mom's neck and the one under her arm. They have grown very big. Both are about the size of a large plum, and the onc felt like my mom was in immediate danger to her throat and of losing feeling in her arm. We started radiation on those two tumors last week. She is on 5 of 12 treatments. My mom also asked about starting the CPT 11 and erbitux. Her onc said because of my mom's weakened state (she is losing wieght fast) and because the cancer is spreading so rapidly that my mom would probably only have about a 25% chance of responding to the treatment and the onc doesn't know if it would really be worth it. She told my mom to finish the radiation treatments and then we will visit with the onc again to see what we should do. My mom has been taken out of hospice and put into palitive care so that she can still do the radiation and chemo (if that is what she decides.) My mom is very weak and is getting worse almost daily. She is only able to get out of bed to go to radiation. The pain is some what under control as long as she doesn't move. She is sleeping about 22 hours a day. Things are kind of bad here, but we are a family who has a lot of faith. I know that God will give us the strenght to get through this. It is still very difficult though and I am asking for prayers from all of you. Whatever prayers you want to send our way would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you and God bless all of you-

My mom was my best friend and it was very hard for me but i prayed for God to get me through cause i didn't think it was possible for me to deal with it. But he lifted me up and gave me strength i never thought possible of having. I know he is giving me the strength now because of what i saw i my moms situation im still so afraid. But God is in control of everything and i won't go til HE says so. Just keep praying with all your heart and he will bring you and your mom and your family comfort and peace. God Bless you and i will pray for you and your mom.
