Hello everybody,
I just joined this wonderful network. I have gone through the profile of many of the survivors here. All of them touch me and inspire me. I am still exploring around the website to learn more about the experiences of the survivors here.

I also wanted to share this online resource with you: A group of cancer researchers has started a communication forum on Nature Network website http://network.nature.com/group/cancer_research to discuss the latest research and clinical trials on cancer. The forum attempts to encourage direct communication between the scientists and the public/patients.

Ask your questions about latest cancer research and the experts will answer the questions. Some of the recent discussion has been on HPV vaccine, cancer genome mapping, Leukemia drug gleevec and public lecture series at UCLA. Share your knowledge and experiences with the researchers.

Best Regards!

So did you actually have cancer or are you just here promoting another web site?

We tend to frown on that mindset around here, sorry. You address leukemia and the HPV vaccine in your post, yet you didn't post on the leukemia OR ovarian cancer message boards. Kinda odd, no?

    Hi Stacy, Hi Alta29,

I have been touched by cancer in a very personal way very recently. My wife's very close uncle was diagnosed with cancer. Yesterday night, my parents-in-law called us with another very shocking news about his condition... Our wounds are just so raw right now...... we don't know what to think, what to make of it.

I am a science student. This experience with cancer has motivated me more in my goal to do my best to learn about cancer and get involved in cancer research to the fullest of my capabilities.

Since I am new to this forum, I did not know where to post the resource I mentioned in my earlier post. I tried to enter it in the Resource Library but the resource page got stuck. Can you please direct me to the appropriate place to share this with everybody? Thanks.

What type of cancer does your wife's uncle have? What are they (the doctors) currently doing as far as treatment? How old is he? What is his attitude towards his health? Any family history?

Resources are posted on the resource page, not in the discussion boards. They will get lost in the discussion boards, especially this one.
