This may be more than you ever wanted to know about your colon and rectum!
Ever wonder why there is so much compassion on this board? Well... did you know that in ancient days the bowels were considered to be the seat of compassion and love. Before they were usurped by the heart! The bowels have fallen out of favor of late. In ancient Greek one of the words for compassion literally meant "a moving in the bowels". It's the "gut" where we feel the pain of others.
It's time for semicolons to reclaim this high ground in relation to our sacred anatomy!! Perhaps it's the very site of our wounds which leads us to a places of deep compassion!

But shouldn't semi-colons be merely semi-compassionate? There are some details here we need to work out.
