Strawberries

I saw a little blurb in the May issue of SELF magazine that caught my attention: "Strawberries may be best at warding off colon and oral cancers, a test-tube study in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry shows. The berries contain a group of antioxidants that work together to hinder the growth of cancer cells. They're also a good source of vitamin C, folate, and fiber. Slice fresh strawberries into cereal or yogurt, or toss into salads. Sweet!"

I thought it was interesting that they didn't mention that strawberries are on the list of the big 12 items that should be purchased organic. Think I'll go eat a bowl of organic shredded wheat with ground flax seed and organic strawberries. Yum!
