Wow,
I just got off the phone with my onc nurse who told me the results of my latest scans/blood work! I am still NED and my CEA is LESS THAN 0.5. I am so relieved. I don't know if anyone else feels this way, but I always feel like I am going to have a nervous breakdown waiting for these darn results. Some of you might have noticed, this is the first time I have even had the courage to post my results on the forums. I have always felt that I might jinx myself (dumb, I know). So, I hope this gives some of you hope, if you don't remember, I was Stage IV with mets to liver and one lung, did chemo 2x.....all that was now over 2 1/2 years ago! Woo Hoo!! I am finally gonna allow myself the NAKED HAPPY DANCE. God is good!!! You can read about it in my web page if you don't know me.....
For those of you out there just starting out in this journey, just believe because you can be healed!

Hi Susan -

I am so happy for your good results. Do the happy dance! I also totally understand your reluctance to post good results - I also feel close to a nervous breakdown every 3 months when I wait for results of my PET/CT scans. And even though results are still good, I no longer feel comfortable posting them - maybe that it is something that happens as we age into this disease?

Meanwhile, congrats on being able to share your good results this time - and 2.5 years past all chemo is a huge milestone. Good news for you and good news that helps us all.

Take care,
Betsy

Thats funny that you used to post your results and now you don't. I finally feel like it is OK to.
BTW, I'm 3.5 years post chemo!/ 2.5 post my final surgery! YEA!
and.....drumroll.....5 years from diagnosis and still ALIVE, so take that you lousy statistics!

Great news Susan!!!

I can completely understand the "jinx myself" mentality. I still have it too. I am at my 2 1/2 year mark of NED after stage IV with mets to the liver and one lung too. My next testing is in 2 weeks and I am really nervous but your news along with so many others recently really help.

Thanks for sharing and do go out and DANCE!!!!! Job well done and you deserve it.

Susan,
That's great news. What a relief. I know the anxiety you feel before the tests. I don't think we ever get over that.

Lisa- We will be praying for your continued NED status. Please let us know as soon as possible.

Susan,

I am so thrilled for you!! I go for my scans June 7th at MD Anderson. I had mets to the liver and abdominal nodes and was clear (NED) at the last scan in March. I know the anxities of testing!! I'm just so happy for you - you give inspiration.

Hi Susan, What great news for you, too. I know just what you mean about the jinx stuff. I have all kinds of superstitions and magical thoughts about ways to influence my test outcomes. Here's hoping they work for my PT scan results tomorrow! Your story gives me courage no matter what the results. Judy

Thank You Ying,
What I am doing, have done? I try to take a "wholistic" approach to staying well that includes mind/body medicine, taking tons of supplements (lately I've added tumeric), I exercise and try to eat right, I started juicing before my water pipes froze! but I am going to be starting up when we move into our new place (this weekend). All of this is a work in progress, but I think I live a much healthier life now than I did before, mentally, physically, and spiritually....

WOOHOO!!!

AWESOME news!!!!!!

So great that you shared so we can all join in on a group Semi-colon Naked Happy Dance! (What a sight that would be!)

I would bet others would be interested in knowing what other "treatments" you are doing to keep up your good health cuz I know you are doing some important nutritional programs.

peace, emily

I guess I should have explained my treatments better, i.e. I did not have chemo following my last surgery, my supplements, etc. I think most of the "old timers" know what I've done but if someone asks a question about nutrition, mind/body, etc. I will be sure to chime in!
I think healing is a work in progress. I remember someone asking when they could "stop" taking supplements, juicing, etc...Well, it's a lifestyle as you know, not a one time thing.
Peace,
Susan

Congrats! (as I dance quietly at my desk!) I understand what you mean about "jinx". I have been afraid to post but all tests are good over 1 year out from dx so I think I can, I think I can... maybe? post NED? HUGS and hope we keep hearing good news from the family. It always boosts everyones spirits when we do.

Lisa F.

PS. Good luck to the others on their tests coming up. I have an onc appt in about 2 weeks.
