Hi! My husband is 28 and is going through post-op chemo for cancer at the GE junction. Some doctors say esophageal, some say stomach...regardless it is a gastric cancer. He was stage 3 at diagnosis and by the time they went through chemo/radiation it had shrunk where it needed to be shrunk for surgery but had protruded through one part of his stomach and touched his liver, therefore, at surgery he was stage 4. His symptons too started out as hiccups and led to not swallowing properly. His pathology from surgery came back wonderful but we told the surgeons and oncologists at OSU to hit him hard with anything they could! He just had his first scope since surgery this past week and the surgeon said that everything looks wonderful!!! They are very optimistic! We have a 4 year old and a baby who is now 12 days old and lots to look forward too!

I am a very young patient. I am 34 and recovering from chemo/radiation and surgery. My cancer was at stage 3 at this point I am cancer free, but I am having another course of chemo, just to make sure because one stupid lymphnode was infected at the time of my surgery. You can contact me at traci.sawtelle@gmail.com, I'd love to chat with you.
