Thanks, just the feedback I was looking for! My doctor is J. Stephen Jones and I am concerned that his forte is Open Surgery rather than Robotics. He claims he does about 60% Robotic, but on my initial visit last year all he discussed was open surgery.jimpi said:Sorry, about your diagnosis .I had Robotic surgery last Jan 6 06.Good results .53 years old ,In good shape.Dr Kaouk did my surgery.Result, negative margins, wear no pads and have normal sex life .Good Choice. My doc wanted to do cut and stitch too no way. I know there is a good Robotic MD in Colubus and one of the best in Detroit at the Ford Hospital, names escape me.
Was fairly easy and after the catheter was mostly dry. It's been a year and I'm 60. No issues on what ever I wish to do but....sex still on hold (no pun intended!). My life isn't governed by my sex drive and I'm still me. Don't worry If it's early get the bone and ct scans. I went from Houston to Austin for surgery so If you had to go to Columbus or Detroit it's no big deal. I was walking around same day and Drove home the next.
Ask the MD lots of questions and don't let them cut!!!!!
Check out the DaVinci web site for listing of Doctors. Make sure they've done lots of them not just 20 or 30 jj
