Steelerfan~

My Dad went for a regular check up -- the first in many years. Since he had never had a colonoscopy, his doctor recommended that he do so. Thank God he did! Not only did my Dad not have any symptoms, but he exhibited none of the risk factors associated with colon cancer. Also, he had no family history of colon cancer. To say the least, it was quite a shock!

Hi Michele, I second the thank God he went for the colonoscopy. I always say I must have had my guardian angel sitting on my shoulder because I don't know to this day what really made me go for the colonoscopy. The first thing people ask me when I tell them I had colon cancer is what were my symptoms and I tell them that if they have any slight symptom they should get checked. You just never know. Best wishes to you and your Dad.
