You may want to contact the American Cancer Society's National Cancer Information Center. Cancer Information Specialists are available 24 hours a day and can assist in finding a specialist. They can be reached at 1-800-227-2345.

Hi my name is Todd,

I was diagnosed with Liposarcoma in the left arm at 18 years old in 1998. My local Oncologist recomended me to go see Dr. Pisters at MD anderson in Houston, TX. After speaking with the Dr. pisters he recomended that we do surgey. After the surgey the tumor the took out was the size of a baseball (about 4").

I am now 26 years old and cancer free for 8 years. I would highly recomend Dr. Pisters at MD Anderson 1-800-392-1611.

Depending on where you are, Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York are one of the expert hosptials on sarcomas.

Dr. Alan Levine in Baltimore (first at Univ. of Maryland Medical Center and then at Sanai Hospital in Baltimore) is a specialist on sarcomas and orthopoedic oncology though I am not sure if he is still in Baltimore. The treatment I received was very aggressive but I have been cancer free for 11 years.
